Abu Dhabi Technology Center
ExxonMobil along with its co-venturers in Zakum Development Company (ZADCO) is working to expand development of Upper Zakum, one of the world’s largest oil fields.
To support this, we created the Abu Dhabi Technology Center in 2007, the first of its kind at an ExxonMobil joint-interest facility. The center, which is managed and operated by our staff, was created to apply high-impact technology, which benefits Upper Zakum, and to maximize collaboration between ZADCO and ExxonMobil professionals.
Our ZADCO technology arrangement also provides for significant training of Emirati staff. Already, through the ExxonMobil Technology Center in Abu Dhabi and organizations in the U.S., we have provided more than 3,000 training days to Emiratis. We have also had a significant number of ZADCO personnel seconded to our specialized Houston-based organization for extended periods of time.
In addition, the Abu Dhabi Technology Center employs and trains UAE nationals, embracing the Emiratization strategy set out by the government.
